Key Characteristics
With the application of non-woven technology and more than twenty stages of processing, the microfibers are only 1/20th of the diameter of silk fibers. While the interwoven base layer simulates the durable fibrous collagen structure and firmness of natural cowhide, a thin layer of PU is applied on top of the microfiber base to create patterns and colors.
Observing the cross-sectional image with a microscope makes it easy to notice the similarities in the interwoven fibrous structure of microfiber leather and the collagen fiber structure of natural cowhide. The successful emulation of this structure gives the microfiber leather superior quality, durability, and superior look and haptics.
